What are affirmations? Affirmations are positive statements that one says out loud often that uplifts the person that says them. They are a self-empowering tool that uses the practice of positive thinking.
Affirmations can be a bit daunting at first. I, for one, was kinda rolling my eyes at the idea. "Sure, I'll just say tiny magical phrases and my life will be so much better." sarcasm-intended. But you know what, they do make me feel better. I can't guarantee they will change your life, but they definitely can't hurt!
Many women, myself included suffer from a lot of doubt and fear. We have internal blocks we don't realize are making it difficult for us to successfully conceive.
Common blocks you might not even realize you have been dealing with could be being scared of sacrificing your freedom to raise a child, being scared that your mental health or physical health will negatively impact your future child, being scared that a certain doctor's diagnosis implicating your fertility will prevent you from becoming pregnant, being scared of the changes your body will go through as it grows a human-being inside of you, and more. Negative portrayal of pregnancy, birth and parenting in medias and society may also make you fearful and doubtful of your future parenting abilities.
All of these fear-based thoughts have more power than you think. So let's look at some journaling prompts and techniques to help clear those blocks.
I first heard about this Kundalini meditation in one of Gabby Bernstein's recordings. We use a Kirtan Kriya which is a singing meditation with movement (Kirtan means “song” in Sanskrit and a kriya is a specific set of movements in Kundalini Yoga). This meditation is good to help you regulate your mood and is also very powerful for pregnant women and women trying to conceive.
There is something incredibly important that often gets overlook during our upbringing as girls... Our menstrual cycle. No one really takes the time to explain to us how it all works, and how our body and mind change during the different phases. Here are 6 books that do just that and beyond!
One of the first thing you will most likely think about when you want to get pregnant is probably your physical health. You want to make sure you eat a decent diet that will help you sustain your pregnancy. Today, we will talk about the nutritious foods you should feed your body.
Although women have been known the get pregnant at all kinds of body weights and shapes, it's important to understand that a healthy body weight will increase your chances of getting pregnant and will significantly reduce your risk of complications during pregnancy and postpartum. Obesity and extremely low body fat can reduce the potential for ovulation. Furthermore, maternal obesity is linked with higher risk for neural tube defect, heart defect, miscarriage, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, delivery complication, and more.
On January 1st, I attended a Kundalini Yoga class for the first time. I had been wanting to try it for a while and it really hit a spot! During class, we did an 11-minute chant called "Ardas Bhaee." According to alchemyyoga.org, "it is a mantra for miracles and grants the deepest prayer within your heart, even the prayers unknown to you. This mantra means the energy of grace and miracles is granted, and you can lovingly let go of your prayer knowing it was heard and that the healing and blessings of your heart's purest desire are granted."
One of the most important ways to consciously conceive is to connect our hearts to our wombs. Creating a trusting relationship with your uterus can be very transformative. This is especially important if you have been having difficulty with your fertility.
I was recently introduced to a meditation for prosperity called "Har" which is a Kundalini Yoga meditation. Yogi Bhajan said, “This meditation stimulates the mind, the moon center, and Jupiter. When Jupiter and the moon come together, there is no way in the world you will not create wealth.”
Connecting with our partners is essential for conscious conception. We want to make sure that we and our partner are both on the same page when in comes to bringing a child into your life. If there are stress and tensions at this level it can really negatively affect the outcome of our efforts.
